Although Lady is still just a young first freshener in 2016 she is already showing great promise. She has great brisket extension, space to spare between her hocks and lovely top line. She excels in Dairy Strength, Fore Udder attachment, height and Rear Udder Arch.
She was 15 months old when she freshened the first time. She was just 11 days fresh at her first milk test, where she milked 3.4 pounds and 6.1% fat. The next month she followed up with 3.8 pounds. I think anyone would agree that is great volume for a first freshener, but when you add that to the fact that she is just 18" tall....it all becomes down right impressive.
Lady's dam is a very correct doe who earned a 91 on LA in 2015, her structural traits were all V's & E's except a lone + in head. Sunsilk excels in teat placement and MSL. She held a solid and consistent lactation in 2015, averaging more than 3.7lbs through 248 DIM. Sunsilk's daughter Castle Rock Citrus Splash, a 3/4 sibling to Lady, performed extraordinarily well on LA in 2015 earning a VEVV89 as a 2 year old.
We had the opportunity to breed Lady to Castle Rock Blue Ice (owned by Wolfivan Ranch) for the 2016 Kidding Season. Blue Ice is out of GCH CRF Castle Rock Black Ice 2*M EEEE92 who not only placed first in her class at Nationals in 2015, but was awarded the Total Performer award! We have retained Hidden Hills BI Bella Noche from this pairing.

We look forward to having a longer lactation with Lady this year. She started her 3rd lactation with 4.3 pounds at 29 days fresh. She always amazes us with how much production she has for such a tiny doe.
