It has taken a few years to get to the point where we actually plan for a Junior Herd Sire and that is exactly what we did with Magic Mike. We love to line breed but at times need to infuse the herd with fresh genetics. We originally purchased our Senior Herd Sire Wood Bridge Farm Valedictorian for this specific task, to breed him to one of our best does for the purpose of producing a new Herd Sire. Mike's Dam, SGCH Bellafire BP Country Melody 1*M (EEEE 91 @ 3yrs 2m) swept all three rings at the first show of the season as a three-year-old. She was an impressive sight that day! Melody was so long bodied and elegant as a junior doe, I knew it would take her a few years to grow into and fill out all that length...at three years of age...she did it! She is also so very impressive in the milk bucket, milking 5.6 pounds at 41 days fresh into her second lactation. Melody has had the biggest impact on our young herd.
Mike paternal Grand Dam is the 2014 National Junior Champion and his Sires' litter-mate sister was the highest selling Colorama kid in ADGA history. Wood Bridge Farm Spelling Bee sold for $16,100 in 2016! Spelling Bee is Val's full litter-mate sister. Spelling Bee was 2nd place Junior kid at the 2016 Nationals, 11th place yearling milker at 2017 Nationals, 1st place two-year-old and Best Udder at the 2018 National Show and last but not least...5th place three-year-old at the 2019 Nationals. If this is not consistency, I'm not sure what is! and is absolutely stunning
