Poppy Patch HB Material Girl is a doe we have had our eye on for some time. She had been cautiously for sale as a junior, but her breeder decided to retain her. This one stayed in our minds though; we were hard pressed to forget the missed opportunity. Fast forward to 2016 and wouldn't you know it, Material Girl found her way to Hidden Hills after all!
We don't know very much about Mattie as she came to us dry and is still settling in, but we certainly like what we see so far. This girl is long and level and pretty as can be. As a first freshener she placed 1st in 2 of 3 rings out of 22 does in her class before walking away with a Reserve Grand Champion ribbon. If that is any indication of her future success, we may have a show stopper on our hands next year!
One of the things we love about Mattie's pedigree is that she is heavily line bred on Rosasharn's UMT Tupelo Honey; genetics we are definitely excited to have more of represented within the herd. Tupelo is a very well blended doe with an exceptionally long and level body. She's angular with a wide chest floor and dairy skin so pliable it really is a thing of beauty! Tupelo's crowning glory is her udder, and it is definitely what inspired us to bring Mattie to our herd. Tupelo's rear udder is well balanced and capacious, sitting high and wide, with a strong medial and well placed teats.
Tupelo is not only an amazing doe, but she has proven to reproduce her quality in her offspring. She currently has 4 finished champion daughters and one finished son. Her offspring have gone on to produce countless beautiful goats that are dominating in the show ring and proving their worth in the milk pail as well. These are some of the most sought after Algedi genetics and we are more than pleased to have Mattie join the Hidden Hills herd.
