GCH CRF Castle Rock Black Ice
If you know who Summer Bird is then you have to know just how special this semen is. Not only is this doe at the top of many people's list for style and udder, but the breeder has never sold a daughter out of her. Her bucks are highly sought after and there haven't been many to go around!
Legacy's dam Phoenix Farm Summer Bird is a beautiful doe that truly stands out hands down in a crowd. She is correct from head to toe and most importantly, and impressively, is her ability to produce consistent daughters with udders that look just like hers. These daughters are so consistent there is no doubt you could pick them out in a lineup and that is exactly the consistency of quality we are looking for in our herd. Bird is a finished champion, has her superior genetics designation, and a earned a permanent LA score of EEEE 91 at 5 years old. Bird boasts an E in rump and shoulder assembly; two areas in particular that Nigerians typically tend to need improvement on. Bird has a well structured udder and excellent attachments with an udder that sits high and tight in the escutcheon. She has a strong MSL and fore udder with a beautiful rear udder arch.
Oh but did I mention it gets better? Legacy's paternal grand dam is GCH CRF Castle Rock Black Ice (pictured above, right) who was the 2015 Top Performer at Nationals and also took home 1st place in the aged doe class. Black Ice is truly a doe who blossomed in her old age earning an EEEE92 on LA at 7 years of age! She is a strong deep bodied doe with excellent dairy character. Seeing her in profile really allows you to admire her beautiful dairy wedge and strong front end assembly. Black Ice also has a strong rump and shoulder set (V's on LA) which really gives us hope that Legacy will be able to pass those qualities on. She has an incredibly high and wide udder with one of the strongest MSL and fore udders we have seen on a Nigerian. The cherry on top is Black Ice's incredible udder texture and her ability to milk down to nearly nothing!
This pedigree really is royalty all over, and the correctness of animals in the pedigree gives us high hopes for what Legacy can accomplish within the Hidden Hills herd through AI in the future.
