Gillyflower has a very attractive feminine frame with a smoothness of blending throughout. She correctly stands slightly taller at the withers and has inherited her mothers beautifully sculpted head. I admire her level top line. What stands out most to me about Gillyflower is her angularity, long body and her long lean neck that blends smoothly into her shoulders. She has a different look to her then the other two Valedictorian daughters we retained this year, so it will be interesting to see how she matures compared to her two half siblings.
Gilly's Dam has achieved some amazing accomplishments in just her first four years. Darlin milked almost 1,500 pounds during her 2016 lactation, as well as earning her Superior Genetics designation during the same year and securing the #2 ADGA Top Ten Breed Leader for Milk production. In 2017 her LA score truly reflected what a beautiful doe she is, she earned a VEEE 90 at 4 years and 4 months old! Darlin milked over 1,400 pounds during her 2017 lactation as well and her two-year-old first freshening daughter will milk just shy of 1,300 pounds.
Gilly's Grand Dam, SG Alethia MH Dew a Lil Dance earned her 6*M star by milking over 900 pounds of milk as a yearling first freshener! At the end of her lactation she even blew the roof off the charts with butterfat marked at 9.9%
Her Maternal Great Grand Dam is SGCH Algedi Farm DJ Honey Dew 5*M (EEEE 91 @ 04-01). Honey Dew has definitely made her mark on the Nigerian breed. Honey Dew earned 5 Best Doe in Show awards, 11 Best of Breeds and 8 Senior Grand Champions. She has multiple Superior Genetic daughters. Her daughter Dew it Again earned an EEEE 91 at 3 years of age and her daughter Dew Ya Love Me earned a VEVE 90 at the age of four.
Gilly's Sire, is extremely correct and proportionate, balancing width and depth throughout. He possesses great dairy strength, refinement, flatness of bone, open ribbing and loose skin. He stands on good feet and legs with strong pasterns.
His Sire, Understated is the son of two amazing pedigrees. First, CH Wood Bridge Farm Apache Wind carries an impressive LA score of EVE 90 at the age of six. He has also already produced two Champion daughters and one Champion son. His Champion daughter Wood Bridge Farm Teachers Pet was the 2014 ADGA National Junior Champion. Apache Wind is also the ANDDA All American Two-Year-Old for 2012.
Understanded's Dam, CH Wood Bridge Farm Belladonna is the only two-time winning ADGA National Nigerian Champion and Best Udder both years as well! Understated himself is Sire to the highest selling Colorama kid in ADGA history. Wood Bridge Farm Spelling Bee sold for $16,100 in 2016! Spelling Bee is Val's full litter-mate sister.
