Flor Del Rio is our much anticipated, first retained daughter of River Blossom. We have waited four years for her to arrive and she is everything we hoped for! At such a young age of even just eight weeks old she looks so mature, just a tiny adult. I honestly love everything about her, there is nothing I would wish for improvement on. We normally never show juniors, but something came over us and we took her to our first show of the season. In a large intermediate class of 15 kids she place consistently in the top three.
Her Dam, GCH Hidden Hills River Blossom is the jewel of our herd! I am so impressed with her femininity, length and smoothness of blending. River Blossom shows very prominent withers, tightly set elbows and lovely strength of brisket. She has a long lean neck. nice spring of rib and very soft skin. I especially love her long length of body. Blossom in a few areas has outdone ever her Dam. She has one of the loveliest Fore Udders in our herd and the widest rump!
Rio's Grand Dam, SGCH Bellafire Country Melody 7*M (EEEE 91 @ 3yrs 2m) swept all three rings at the first show of the season as a three-year-old. She was an impressive sight that day! Melody was so long bodied and elegant as a junior doe, I knew it would take her a few years to grow into and fill out all that length...at three years of age...she did it! And her elegance was noted by an impressive EEEE 91 she earned at Linear Appraisals at just 3 years old. She is also so very impressive in the milk bucket, milking 5.6 pounds at 41 days fresh into her second lactation.
